Explosion of tablets creates a desirable audience

Suddenly tablets are everywhere. And many people who don’t already own one have plans to buy one. New research from comScore, a leading research company, sheds light on the demographics of the tablet audience. As cited by MediaPost “iPad users skew more male, younger and more affluent than Android tablet and Kindle Fire users.” While users of the Kindle Fire, often cited as second in sales behind the iPad, skewed less affluent, the Fire has a higher proportion of female users at 57%. The report also pointed out “Satisfaction among tablet and smartphone users was high across the board. On a 10-point scale, average tablet satisfaction overall had a score of 8.6.”
