Florida Home, the real estate site for The Palm Beach Post, is now mobile-friendly. A new version of the site optimized for viewing on mobile devices is now available. Users can search listings, see property details or contact an agent for a showing. To access it, point your Internet-enabled mobile device to: http://m.homes.palmbeachpost.com. Why is this important? As smartphones and tablets continue to proliferate, more of us are searching the web on mobile devices than ever before. This is especially true for real estate, where prospective home buyers and renters are tapping into new listings on the go.
Inman News, which monitors the real estate industry, reported, “There is increasing evidence that consumers are more likely to call or email an agent about a listing from a mobile device than from a laptop or desktop computer.” They cited as an example that visitors to Realtor.com using iPads and iPhones are “160 percent and 300 percent more likely to contact an agent than users of desktop or laptop users,” according to the president of Realtor.com. He also cited that on weekends, mobile users account for “between 25 and 45 percent of Realtor.com's traffic.”
