By; Nicole Moschella, Media Coordinator Being a Florida girl does not stop me from enjoying all things fall! Halloween, changing leaves that I have to travel north for, boots and of course, Pumpkin Spice Lattes (or “PSL” as I affectionately refer to them). I love it all!
This year, Starbucks released the PSL a full four weeks before the official start of fall. The hype surrounding my favorite fall beverage was so great, Starbucks decided to make a game out of it. All a fan had to do was follow @TheRealPSL on Twitter for clues leading up to the launch. After giving a secret code to a barista, fans were able to “unlock” the beverage early. Great marketing!
Although, not everyone was as thrilled about the early release… some Twits (is there a word for Twitter users?) were so enraged over the fact that society had giving up on summer early and others tried to ruin all the fun by listing the ingredients on Facebook for all to see. Rude, don’t ruin for us. I refuse to let it bother me. I’ve already had three PSLs since August 25th.
