These boots are made for stalking....

Have you ever been shopping online, clicked on that sweet pair of boots then thought, “It’s not Fall, I won’t need boots for months…”

So you go about you mobile business, checking email, updating Facebook, reading tonight’s restaurant review on Yelp. Two days later. A week later. Sometimes just a few hours later … there they are again. Those boots! The very same ones you ogled. In your size. Teasing you. Reminding you that this is Florida, we can wear whatever we want all year. Even white. Definitely boots. They follow you. No matter what website you go to. No matter what time of day. The boots show up in a little ad on the side of the page, on the top, in the scroll below, calling to you. Are the boots stalking you? No! It’s called retargeting, or “polite stalking” in our marketing terms. When it’s done wrong, it’s annoying and an eyesore. But when it’s done well, it’s a welcome relief. Maybe you got distracted on your way to checkout and forgot to finalize the order. Maybe you decided you’d wait until payday to buy them, and then payday came and went. Maybe Fall was just around the corner. Getting that reminder ensures that eventually you will cave and buy those babies. Because, let’s be honest, you never have too many boots.
